GAME6 — independent gaming publication

About GAME6

GAME6 is an independent gaming publication focused on major game releases, launch countdowns, news, guides and useful player resources.

GAME6 exists because following a major game launch has become unnecessarily confusing. Release dates move, rumors travel faster than announcements, and a great deal of what circulates during a hype cycle is presented with a confidence it has not earned. We wanted a place where the basic questions get answered directly and where the difference between a fact and a guess is always visible.

Our Mission

The goal is straightforward: make gaming information easy to understand without making it less accurate. In practice that means a few concrete commitments.

  • Answer the question first. If you arrived asking how many days are left until a launch, you should get the number before you get an essay.
  • Separate confirmed information from rumor. Every article carries a status label, and individual claims inside articles carry their own where it matters.
  • Track launch schedules properly. When a date changes, the countdown, the reporting and the record of the change all move together.
  • Publish guides people actually use. Storage planning, platform differences, display settings and edition comparisons are more useful than another round of speculation.
  • Keep articles current. An article that was right six months ago and wrong today is a liability, so updates carry visible dates.
  • Respect your time. No padding to hit a word count, no burying the answer under an introduction nobody asked for.

Why GAME6 Started With GTA 6

GTA 6 is the current editorial focus for a simple reason: it is the launch people are asking the most questions about, and it is the launch where the gap between confirmed information and confident speculation is widest. A countdown, a clear release-date explainer and a set of practical launch guides genuinely help during a cycle like this one.

It is also a good test of the format. If a publication can cover a release this noisy without overstating what is known, it can cover anything. The live countdown on the GAME6 homepage and the GTA 6 coverage hub are the two pillars of that effort.

GAME6 is built to cover more than one game. The countdown system, the article template, the status labelling and the archive structure are all designed to carry additional releases as they approach. GTA 6 is where we started, not where we intend to stop.

What We Publish

Coverage falls into a handful of recognisable formats, each labelled as such.

  • News — announcements and schedule changes, reported factually.
  • Release updates — what changed, when, and on what basis.
  • Countdown tracking — a live timer plus the context around it.
  • Explainers — background on how release windows, editions and platform rollouts actually work.
  • Platform information — what each console or PC configuration means in practice.
  • Trailer analysis — what is visibly on screen, kept separate from what viewers infer.
  • Character and map guides — reference material that grows as verified information appears.
  • Launch preparation — storage, settings, downloads and avoiding scams.
  • Hardware and buying guides — editorial recommendations, with any affiliate relationship disclosed on the page.
  • Corrections and updates — published visibly rather than folded in silently.

Our Editorial Approach

Official announcements from developers and publishers are the primary source for anything factual. Where a claim comes from elsewhere, it is labelled — as expected, unconfirmed, or rumor — and that label appears on the article card, in the header and beside the claim itself. Nothing is marked official automatically.

Articles carry a publication date and, where relevant, an update date. Corrections are shown on the article rather than quietly absorbed into the text, because a reader who saw the original version deserves to know it changed. The full standards are set out in the editorial policy, and the process for raising an error is in the corrections policy.

Commercial relationships do not determine editorial conclusions. If a guide recommends a product and that recommendation carries an affiliate link, the link is disclosed on the page and the recommendation has to stand on its own merits.

On tooling: GAME6 may use software assistance in research, drafting or production workflows. Where that happens, published material is still subject to editorial review before it goes live, and responsibility for accuracy rests with the publication rather than with any tool. If our workflow changes, this section changes with it — we would rather describe the process accurately than claim a standard we do not meet.

Independence

GAME6 is an independent publication. Specifically, and to remove any ambiguity:

  • GAME6 is not affiliated with Rockstar Games.
  • GAME6 is not affiliated with Take-Two Interactive.
  • GAME6 is not an official GTA website and does not represent itself as one.
  • GAME6 is not owned or controlled by a game publisher or platform holder.
  • GAME6 is an independent editorial publication that reports on the industry from outside it.

Grand Theft Auto, GTA and related names, logos and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used here descriptively, in editorial context. The full statement is on the disclaimer page.

How GAME6 Makes Money

A publication that will not explain how it is funded is asking for trust it has not earned. GAME6 may generate revenue through some or all of the following:

  • Display advertising — advertising slots on the site.
  • Affiliate links — commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you, as described in the affiliate disclosure.
  • Sponsorships — clearly labelled sponsored placements.
  • Partnerships — editorial or distribution partnerships, disclosed where they apply.

None of these arrangements buy positive coverage. A commercial relationship does not guarantee a recommendation, a favourable conclusion, or coverage at all. Sponsored material is labelled as sponsored so you never have to guess whether you are reading editorial or advertising.

Contact and Corrections

If something here is wrong, tell us and we will fix it. Specific pointers are far more useful than general complaints, and corrections are published transparently.

Future Vision

The plan is to expand beyond a single game while keeping the identity that makes the site worth visiting: launch countdowns that are accurate, guides that are practical, and labelling that tells you how confident to be in what you are reading.

Concretely, that means more games tracked as their release windows approach, deeper post-launch guide coverage for the games we already cover, and hardware guidance written as editorial rather than as a storefront. What will not change is the underlying principle: if we do not know something, we will say so rather than fill the gap with confident-sounding speculation.

You can follow the coverage through the GTA 6 archive, the RSS feed, or the newsletter signup on the homepage.
